The founders of Mission Success Corp. identified one of their focus groups as “Women facing Challenges.” Included in this group is any woman facing one or more challenges in her journey to self-sufficiency. Examples of challenges include women who experienced or are experiencing domestic violence, women who are single mothers, women who lack mentorship, women with limited skill sets, women experiencing behavioral health issues, just to name a few.
The Mission Success Corp. founders developed a progressive series of leadership courses specifically designed to help women facing challenges. The courses will cover the self-assessment process, every day Leadership and its significance, and concludes by introducing tactical strategies that will help women put their new leadership knowledge into action. Mission Success Corp. calls these combined courses, the Women’s Leadership Academy. Those completing all courses will be awarded a Women’s Leadership Academy Certificate of Completion. There are four training modules included in the Women’s Leadership Academy:
Module 1 – Leadership: Setting the Foundation
The Women’s Leadership Academy begins with each student completing a Leadership Assessment. It is important that each student understand where they are as they begin their leadership journey. Module 1 will define leadership and leadership styles and discuss leadership myths and the importance of leadership.
Students will also take an Emotional Intelligence assessment and discuss the role Emotional Intelligence plays in every leader’s leadership journey. Additionally, because many women experience the Imposter Syndrome, students will explore the Imposter Syndrome along with Emotional Intelligence through healthy group discussions and group exercises. These topics are important for students to explore as ever leader needs to achieve a deep understanding of self-awareness as it relates to leadership responsibilities and behaviors.
Module II – Finding the Leader Within
Module II explores the growth that comes with failure and success and the importance of learning from each experience. Students will also delve into the first two levels of John Maxwell’s 5 Levels of Leadership. Students will study the basics of effective communication and the key to motivating and inspiring others. These topics are essential to the success of every leader.
Module III – The Leadership Influence
This module explores Level 3 and 4 of John Maxwell’s 5 Levels of Leadership. Students will discover how Productionis critical to a leader’s reputation and how People Development is significant to creating and maintaining relationships in the workplace.
Students will also learn how to communicate across generations to connect with people of all ages. Communicating effectively with all generations is required if the leader is to share the purpose of the organization, highlight the values everyone shares, and identify the importance of each person’s role and contributions to the success of the organization. Effective communication is an important skill for every leader as it is a key ingredient to a positive and healthy organizational culture.
Module IV - Leadership In Action
Module IV begins with a review of Levels 1 – 4 of John Maxwell’s 5 Levels of Leadership. Students will then be introduced to Level 5, The Pinnacle. Included in Module IV is learning Conflict Management skills, how to Build Relationships and Increase Engagement, and finally, a full review of the 5 Levels of Leadership. Students will put their new knowledge to work as they complete practical team exercises that will allow each student to demonstrate their new leadership skills and their ability to successfully work as a member of a team.
