Aging-Out Foster Youth

Mission Success Corp. has created a series of soft-skill courses that are designed to give each foster youth a solid foundation upon which to build their professional career. Each foster youth who completes all courses will receive a Certificate of Completion signed by Mission Success Corp. professional trainers. Foster youth students will be encouraged to include this Certificate of Completion when submitting resumes for future employment. The courses included in this certification program include:

Be a responsible Employee

This course strives to address how an individual’s behavior is directly connected to his/her ability to have a successful career. We will explore the importance of appearance, attitude, character and work ethics. The course content will be shared using lecture, healthy group discussions, videos, and group activities.

Communication is the key to a successful team

This course defines effective communication and explores the importance of effective communication in the workplace. Teamwork is equally important in any organization and in this course, students will discover best practices to being a positive team-player.

Thinking is a MUST!

As a professional, you will find the need to think critically, and problem solve to help your organization succeed. This course will explore what it means to think critically, and students will be given a group assignment in which they will put their knowledge into practice. Students will also be exposed to problem solving and will explore how problem solving is both an ability and a process. 

Time is money!

Time management is a valuable skill for academic, personal, and professional success. Time managementis the process of controlling time based on a plan and considerations of obstacles that may be experienced along the way.

Leadership and Followership

In life, depending on the situation, sometimes people lead and sometimes they follow. The workplace is no different. Many employees don’t understand how Leadershipand Followership work together and at times are interchangeable. This course will define both Leadershipand Followership and discuss the importance of both in the workplace. Additionally, this part of the course will review the entire course content through group exercises and healthy group discussions.
